    Shadow Object or Alternative?

    Hello people.

For mt RPG game im looking for an object that allows the creation of shadows. Basicly what it does is return a black skewed and resized version of the MASK.
If an object is to much of a hassle. Maybe it is already possible? Please let me know how.

I could make an object to do that. Of course, it's already possible to do manually, but a bit of a hassle.
I was thinking of an object to do this anyway...

you can paste an active into an overlay, change the shape to black and then deform it to use the result as a shadow.

    Re: Shadow Object or Alternative?

Sphax, that i guessed. I stil dont know how todo it :P And ye, as greyhill says, how do i make it skewed? cause i can draw into the overlay, but then what?

hmmm... meybe i just go with 2 more layers for my RPG engine, that is, shadowlayers. Where i just use prerendered shadow tiles.

    Re: Shadow Object or Alternative?

I've not said that the solution will be fast but it's possible to skewed the picture in the overlay with some mathematics.

But for a game, I don't recommend it. An extension dedicated to that should be the better solution.

    Re: Shadow Object or Alternative?

Yeah, an extension is probably the best solution. Anyway, I wanted to try and make it without one

MMF is too slow for using this method on moving objects, but it works fine for static ones.

    Get it here
