Fast loop slowdown on one pc

I've done quite a bit of work on a game that would otherwise be considered "simple". It's a break-out type game that works great on 3 different test machines. but on the fourth machine, a HUGE slowdown occurs in a fast loop. This machine is a desktop PC running an AMD Sempron at 2 ghz with 4 gigs of memory and an ATI 1300 video card with 512 megs of memory.

It runs windows vista home premium without issue.

The fast loop is called 7 times and throws particles when the brick explodes. On this one PC the process takes about 30 seconds. on all other test machines this process takes a split second.

Any ideas?

Not any ideas but I have never heard of this situation before.

Are the other 3 machines all Intel processors?
There must be a couple AMD processor users around here?
I think Yves might have one in his machine. Since I got burnt by AMD in the past I stay far away from them.

Unfortunately, no, they are not all Intel machines. The development maching is an intel laptop, test machine 1 is an AMD laptop with less power than the desktop that it's slowing way down on. Third test machine is also an intel laptop with much less memory than any of the others. on all three laptops it runs great.

The PC seems to run great too, except for the loop.

I am using AMD Sempron. You can send that application to me, and I'll tell you if I also have this slowdown.

I don't think it has anything to do with it being an AMD chipset, although it really does have me scratching my head.

The "laptop" bit might be a factor, too - is it, for example, on any kind of special power saving mode that might be interfering? (My laptop has performance issues with Click games when I forget that I always have it on the lowest power setting.)

I have no problem running any MMF2 applications on my Vista machine...
