[Request] Glob.Vals with Initial, Min + Max Values

Counters have an initial Value. They have also a minimum Value and a maximum Value. This would also be neat for Global Values

You can set initial value through application properties.

If you want max/min you'd have to use the max() and min() functions.

Re: [Request] Glob.Vals with Initial, Min + Max Values

And you can insert two events that limits the value. But both ways means code in the event editor. Which is not necessary for a counter.

Now keep in mind that you can display counters at the top of the Event Editor, but not Global Values. Means you have to have a very close look what Global Value is what by hovering with the mouse over the field or switching to the Action or the Event List Editor. Messy and time consuming. My current project has over 100 Global Values, growing ...

Heh, that would be another neat thing: displaying global values at the top of the Event Editor like counters or any other object. So that you don`t have to battle to find out what value is in use by hovering with the mouse over every single field.

I'm not arguing that it wouldn't be useful, just trying to work around the fact that it isn't implemented.

In some cases the Event List Editor is useful for that kind of thing.

The Event List Editor is indeed useful for working with Global Values. And that's in fact what i have to use when working with Global Values. Event Editor is not really suited to deal with the GV. But that's no real substitute for having the objects listed at the top and having a grid by that. It is not this fast and comfortable.

Well, yeah, i guess that's the price to pay when using Global Values or Alterable Values too. I just wish to have it a bit more comfortable

Have you ever tried global counters?

Sure. But Counters are slower than Global Values. Speed is why i use GV. Most of them are used in fastloops
