    Error with "Bad objects"?

Hey everyone, while editing my game i noticed after introducing a new object that when i tested my game it said "Bad object detected" and that it was "creating shortcuts for them". The application seems to work fine, but i don't want to back it up over the other files without being 100% sure.

So has anyone had this error or know what could of caused it? When i reopen'd the application it didnt reapear (Or else i would of got a screen pic).

    Thanks for the help, Dylan.

(Edited)So you's know to re read this =)

Also there is now a active object called "Player 56" instead of player 1 in the global events. Could this be related?

Nobody can tell you what went wrong without knowing what you did and having a look a the file i fear. Bad Object bugs are hard to catch. Some of them took years to be tracked down.

Can you remember what you did before the bad object appeared? Have you an older backup to repeat the steps?

    Re: Error with "Bad objects"?

I do have an older backup, but i have been updating my game all afternoon so i'd prefer to not have to start again =(

    I did a few things.
But just before the bug i noticed one of my active objects had disapeard from the first frame, so i replaced it and the coding. The object is now working perfectly even after the "Error".

I don't really want to upload the file because other people could steal work from it =(

Is there serious effects from this kind of bug? I can't see anything changed from it yet.

    Thanks for the help, Dylan.

    Re: Error with "Bad objects"?

Btw the file is over 30mb, mostly because of music files.
I can take them out but that might affect being able to find the problem.

You can remove the music files, no problem. Could you do that and then zip and send me your MFA file? I'll tell you if you can use it or if you should use the older backup.

    Re: Error with "Bad objects"?

Ok will do, one quick newbie question. How do you completly remove samples from the game?

I the music is actually sample files, i removed all the events but they are still in the data elements.

I'll be back to get rid of the music and send it to you in 8 hours.
    Thanks very much, Dylan.
