Well usually page not found means the server can't find anything with the name you requested.

The htm won't look for another CCN it will only look for the file you specified.

You can put in the entire URL
(http://......./...ccn) and see if it helps.

but in short if you can't type in the full path to the CCN and have it work in a browser it won't work in the embed statement either.

Do other CCN files work on this server? I suppose its possible they have it so it doesn't serve CCN files but I think thats not the case.

    Re: Sudden Vitalize "Bug"

Things are definitely going downhill with my vitalized apps. I have three that are identical on two websites, neither of which I have direct access to. I know that they were working earlier in the year, since I used one of them and checked the other. In fact, one of them I used with an entire class of students. Now, none of them are working. When I look at the code in the html file that loads the ccn file, it is as if some of the code has been stripped away. In others, it seems that the ccn file has disappeared. The way this seems to be happening is that when I view the files, they cease to function. I have several older vitalized apps that were written using the code for Vitalize 3 and they are working fine.

Is anyone else finding similar bizarre behavior? Any ideas as to what is going on?

I am going to load some of these onto my server and run some tests.

Well its impossible Vitalize 3 changed the HTML code on your pages. It sounds like the server has problems.

As always if you can't type the URL in your browser directly a HTML won't be able to display the CCN file.

I think the people running your server are the people you might need to talk to -- What have they changed or do they have a virus/hacker on the server playing around?

I don't see any way Vitalize 3 could change/effect a HTML page stored on a server.

    Re: Sudden Vitalize "Bug"

In the above post, I noted a number of vitalized apps that stopped working. They were located on servers that I had no control over. One was my high school web site and the other was at the University of Pennsyvania site. When you looked for the .ccn fils, they seemed to not exist. And when you tried to run them from a .htm file, the vitalize screen came up but the app did not run.

This was a result in a security change to microsoft server, pointed out by the tech person who oversees our school's server. Not his e-mail below.

"Unknown file extensions are blocked by default on the webserver (this is a Microsoft security feature in the newer version of Windows Server - I cannot change it), so the .ccn file he links to below is hidden by the server. I've set the server so it'll now allow .ccn files."

Also note that any of the vitalize scripts seem to work - the old one, the new one with the minor error, and the corrected one.

Everthing on my school web site now works perfectly. Just wanted people to know in case they run in to the same problems.
