Bug in Picture Editor?!?

I Ctrl+A an image with transparent parts in Picture Editor. Then I copy and paste it into an other Background or Active Object. In this case the whole transparent part of the source image is a solid color again.

Is this a bug or have I missed something?
Guess I had this problem in Animation Editor, too. At least sometimes, when copying stuff from one frame to an other.

Does the image have an alpha channel? Might cause problems since it is not copied along with the image...

No, I didn't use alpha channels. Nothing special in the gfx, it even happens if I simply draw a single-colored rectangle.

The Transparent, is a choosen color. Once you copy the object, the transparent gets converted to that specific color again. If the other object use the same "transparent color" as the other one, the transparent part should be transparent.

Yes, I always use the same tranparent color and in the frame editor the gfx have transparent areas. But then I open one object in the picture editor, copy and paste it over an other one - and don't have any transparency.

This worked before, is it possible to trash some settings accidentally?

It looks like my objects suddenly have different transparent colors, but I always used this terrible Barbie Pink.

EDIT: is there a settings file I could try to restore?
