Cutting away parts of an object to show background

Hi Folks.

MMF 2 has a Paste Into Background feature which can be used to paste a black object over background objects, in effect cutting into the object. This works great if the background is black. But what if it's not. What if I have a background image. Is it possible to cut into an object revealing the background image behind it?

the only thing i can think of is loading (or pasting if it isn't a bmp) an image into an overlay (with transparent mode on), then using the Paste Object into Overlay action to paste solid black objects into it

If you use an overlay it is better to draw shapes instead of pasting objects to remove stuff.
