    advanced pathfinding object

    Hi
I have only recently returned to MMF2 after a break for many months.
I see HWA is not too far off and I also came across the Advanced Pathfinding Object extension.

Is there any examples people can post of this object so I can better understand the object? I would like to incorporate this into an isometric engine if possible.

isometric pathfinding example using this object would be awsome

hmm that extension sounds awesome but it might be too much to ask for players to have .net framework 2.0

It might but it does come standard with Vista and like DirectX and stuff sometime you have to have the required support files to play a game

You will have to weight the power of the extension against the cost of requiring .net. The extension allows you to do pretty much anything you could possibly think of considering pathfinding. It's no problem to use it in an iso game.

    Re: advanced pathfinding object

im not too worried about the .net files that are needed. I have downloaded and installed them and Im sure if the object is good enough I could include that in my installer for my game.

I have hada look over the examples last night and Im suer i can figure it out easily enough. I was just hoping somebody had an example handy showing it used in an isometric format?

    Re: advanced pathfinding object

There's the isometric grid object. It provides all the functions you need to make an isometric game from a grid. The same grid layout can then be used for pathfinding, so iso grid and pathfinding both use the same coordinate system.

Maybe first try to make pathfinding work on a top down grid, then transfer it to iso coordinates.
