Please come fix my simple "engine"

    http://www.freakita.com/test.rar

Could you take a look and help me out? If you would like, maybe you could add or change the events/settings as you see fit ? I don't know much, so there is all sorts of problems with collisions (when there is a collision between active 2 and active 7, background - forground don't stop and there's a weird "tremor" etc)

Also a couple of more questions:

-Is there way to make it so that all objects with similar conditions/events but different graphics are feeding off the same event editor settings ? (so that I don't have redo collisions etc for every object individually). For example active 4 and active 7 in my example.

-When I use full screen mode instead of "resize display to fill window size"(which I read is a bit more cpu intensive) a horrible bluriness is added. I recall, that didn't happen on my previous pc which run Win XP. Now I'm using Vista on an HP laptop. Any ideas?

For your first question, use qualifiers, they do exactly what you want. If you have 100 different enemies, you don't want to make collision actions for all of them, just make them all the same qualifier and use that as the object in the event editor. For the second question, I have no idea. I made an example that shows how to make it work, if I understand what was wrong from your post correctly. The Red events should always be on top, and were just used incorrectly in this case. The tremors were from the Set X to X+0.1 and X-0.1. Hopefully this example will help.

Thank you Brandon. All this time and I had never noticed the qualifier option there. I was prepared to program some 1000+ objects, all doing the same thing. That is such a great relief!

A few more questions for anyone who might care to help me out.

    1) How could I make the background/foreground stop moving when the character is bouncing? I have tried everything I can think of.

    2) I have made the background move slowly to give the impression of distance, but it works only with horizontal movement. Is there a way to make it work vertically, with jumping/angled surfaces/moving platforms?

    3) How could I turn off collision specifically for when jumping from below a moving platform, so that the character will not bounce, but instead jump up on the platform? The way it works now is very glitchy.

    4) When the character is up on a moving platform and the platform is moving vertically, if you walk, the character "stumbles"
