A very very useful suggestion. I've seen a maddening amount of threads about people who lost projects they had been working on for months because of a random crash. What I do is back them up to an external hard drive with the name and date, so I can check things at any point in time. I also put my latest version on a secure server just in case something happens to the external hard drive. This is a classic case of better safe than sorry, because you will be very sorry if you don't back up your important files.

Absolutely - and another thing everyone should do is turn on the autobackups! It's not quite as effective as backing things up to a different hard drive or disc, but it's right there in the options and happens automatically. I've seen so many threads here where people complain of a sudden game corruption and they don't have anything to go back to - and while we'd all prefer that never happened, no software is guaranteed to be failsafe and it's easy to take steps to prevent losing a lot of work.

I agree 120%, and this point isn't just just valid for MMF2 apps. Backup all your creations, to make sure that nothing can happen.

I also agree with all these methods and do multiple backups. Never had a file get corrupted since I've used Click produnts for 9 years.

I agree 00J.... I've actually been subject to a game corruption, and lost all of the data. Anyone super-serious about their presentation, it's crucial to buy a blank CD and just save it.

I often backup to a USB key, and burn a CD only once a month. It's better for my wallet and for the planet.

Definitely. I don't burn CD's anymore. I have an external HDD. Lots of space, rewritable, which means you can change your datas at any time, and much faster written than to a CD. And definitely much faster read. Oh how i hate the minute before my CD drive is ready for work, blocking my system by that ...

I use IDrive. Automatic online incremental backups of everything continously.

That way i dont have to worry about theft, fires or crashes, or even if i myself manage to do something strange and destroy the file.
