Creating somewhat of a "whipping tail" effect

Hi, guys, I have another question and I was hoping someone could help me out with this.

I'm making a character in my game that has a tail that can whip around sort of like the classic "Snake" game (or something like the "Follow the Leader" example for vector movements).

Thing is, I even though I know I can use vectors, I have NO idea how to get this effect going. Tried looking at the example for the vector movement, but I had no idea what I was even looking at in the event editor. Anyway know a way I can do this?

I found that I could create the animation of whipping tail within SwishMax which I then export as individual PNG images and use within Multimedia Fusion 2 active object.
