    Re-trace image effect

Hello, I was wondering how difficult it would be to create the following.
Lets say for frame 1 you have an image that is invisible at start of frame, but you have like a pencil on your screen that re-traces or redraws the image as if your watching someone draw or paint an image and once its done it shows the picture maybe fade into color effect or just maybe black and white images...
How would I do any of this or can I and how in simple terms. I dont want someone to do it for me but I would like it explained in dummy terms.

    Thanks,
    Doug

    Re: Re-trace image effect

Well you would have to simply create this effect with different frames. Effects wouldn't have any, uh, effect if everything you're doing is static (as opposed to dynamic). That's the only simple way I can think of.
