Download Sites?

It's worth joining the www.asp-shareware.org
They represent most of the people who offer downloads and shareware.
They've developed the PAD system that makes it very easy to manage your software in the download sites. There are also some nice programs like robosoft that help you register programs with the correct and best download sites for your software.
Registering with all of the download sites automatically is much easier and can make a big difference.

Looks like a good site, but the new version of this software is Freeware, and it looks like that site is only interested in shareware authors.

I used to sell the early versions of this software between 1999 and 2002, and it did very well for me, but I only write freeware these days.
If I was short of a few bob then maybe I'd still be writing shareware, but I know that I like downloading free software and I'm happy to provide that for others to enjoy too.

If that organisation deals with freeware too then I might be interested, but the name sort of suggests otherwise.

Just thought I should add that I do put a "donate" button on the page when I first release a new piece of software, as I do like to cover the costs of the web hosting if I can, but I do like people to have the software regardless.

I thought I'd mention that because having re-read my post above, it sounded like I was saying people shouldn't get anything back for their efforts, which of course they should.
There should always be a way to be thanked. :_)
