    Drag N' Drop Bug

There is a bug involving where the program creates an object after you've dragged an image file onto the play area. When dragging an image into the frame editor (a bmp, avi, etc) it asks what kind of object you would like it to be but then places it in a seemingly random place on the play area, sometimes thousands of pixels away from where you drop it. In MMF 1, objects would be created exactly where you dropped them (the way it should be), but now it seems like they are always created several screens down and several screens across. Right now I'm having to always scroll to the top, drag the item onto the screen, scroll down the screen to find it, then pull the object up to where I wanted it.

    Re: Drag N' Drop Bug

Maybe it would be easier if the forums just made an automatic reply to every post saying "No, no, you're mistaken. Our products are perfect in every way. You are just an idiot."

Look, I'm telling you what is happening. MMF2 has done this since the day I installed it. The closer I am to coordinates 0,0 when I drag an oject, the more "on target" it will be when it appears. However, the farther you are away from 0,0, the greater the distance apart the "drag point" and "creation point" will be. If you drag a bitmap onto the center of a play area thats 8,000 by 8,000, the object will be created so far away it will be completely off the play area.

I'm just reporting the bug. I've already found work arounds.

woah!!!!! calm down. i was only stating the fact that it worked for me. howmany times have posts been made on here where one user experiences something another doesn't?

what size files are they and what extensions. this may have something to do with it. maybe uploading the file for people to look at will help.

Maybe the frame editor is zoomed in when you are dragging and dropping files, causing their destination position to be miscalculated?

    Re: Drag N' Drop Bug

Nope. This bug exists since MMF2 came out. I reported it those days. Nothing changed. Clickteam is ignoring this bug. Seems that we have to live with it.

What i do is to select the dropped item in the list at the left, then choose zoom 100% ( I have customized my menu to have a 100% button). This centers the view at this selected object. And you can grab it then to put it where you want.

    Re: Drag N' Drop Bug

Hmm Shroomlock you are right, I'll try to fix it asap

    For Tiles :

I'm sorry but we don't ignore any bug. I copy/paste all the bugs or suggestions I see in this forum to our internal bug/wish list. The wish list of MMF2 is huge and we have to continue improving the product at the same time, so please forgive us if we don't fix some bugs immediately and/or if we don't fix minor design issues or others maybe less minor but that are very hard to fix.

Also as there are many many posts in this forum, we miss some of them. That's probably the reason I've never seen your bug report, otherwise I would have had added it to our todo list.

Or, no offense, but maybe it's due to the fact that you often report very minor issues in long posts, so I don't read lots of your posts as I've no time to read everything and I try to focus on real problems. But as I said, no offense, don't stop posting things.

    Re: Drag N' Drop Bug

Oh, sorry. It was not thought as an offence. I know there are huge things going on. And that some bugs have minor priority. It was just the fact that a reported issue isn't solved after two years. And that means for me it is ignored, it is fallen off the table. Without any weighting if it is a good thing or a bad. Just as a fact.

Honestly i know of no other company that cares this much about bugs. Thanks for that

Also as there are many many posts in this forum, we miss some of them.
I remember the Buglist section in the old forum for MMF 1.5. And i have always thought that it is a pity that it is gone now. It was a big helper. Users could check if their issue is still reported, if it is under progress, or even solved. Now it can happen that reported bugs fall off the table. Because you have to search through normal support issues to find them, and can easily overread some of them. But yeah, it costs time and energy to care for such a Buglist.

What about an extra category just to report bugs? In that way you save some time to scam through all the other posts

Or, no offense, but maybe it's due to the fact that you often report very minor issues in long posts, so I don't read lots of your posts as I've no time to read everything and I try to focus on real problems. But as I said, no offense, don't stop posting things. ;\)
I cannot promise anything, but i will do my very best to keep things short in the future

    Re: Drag N' Drop Bug

Yes, we miss a bug box so that users can see if a bug has been already reported and what's its status. But the forum is pretty good for reporting bugs too. The old bug base was stopped as we had no time to answer everything and it was not very well organized. We have plans to do a better bug base in the future.

About the drag & drop bug, it'll be fixed in the next beta version of the build 248, it was easy to fix.
