    "Shatter" effect?

    First post!

Anyway, I want to create a "shatter" effect, using active objects.

For example, I draw various pieces of a crate and put them on the play field, and then give them all 2 movements.

    1: static
    and
    2: pinball

After assembling them into the crate, I then put them all under an object group.

From here, I want to make the crate shatter realistically, so if the player were to punch the crate with 10 force, the pieces that were touched would change their movement to pinball, and then fly off with 10 force, and fall from gravity.

    [color:#FF0000]-however-[/color]

I want to do this with as few lines as possible. Hence, my object groups. The issue is, if one is touched, then they all move!

Perhaps the spread value function will fix this? I don't know.

    Thank you for reading!

You ought to give the physics object a try for that.

Sorry, I must not have been clear.

My problem isn't with the physics, but with the objects all moving, when I just want one or two to move.

Sounds like a grouping problem if all objects are responding which are in the same group.

Oh I see what you're saying. Just use spread value. If you can't get that to work, PM me and I'll help you get it up and running.
