    Weird slowdown problem

I'm basically trying to track down the reason for a small (but remarkable) slowdown in my application's latest version. I have a backup of earlier version which runs at 5-10 FPS higher in certain CPU-heavy situations than the new version.

The new version has some additional stuff in it and runs slower. I've been trying to remove all the new stuff (objects and events) to get the high FPS back again. But I seem to be unable to do it, even though I did this:

    - Deleted all the recently added new objects
    - Copy + pasted all the events from the old version to the new version
    - Deleted all the original events of the new version

==> This makes them identical: both mfa's have now same objects and same events and should run equally fast, right?

But they won't. The same performance difference is still there.

Any ideas why this can happen? Can some objects still be "haunting" in the background, even though they are deleted like all the related events?

    I'm using MMF2 R247.

Have you checked if both apps have the same settings? DirectX can slow down your app in one case, and speed up in another case for example.

Yes, they both have exactly the same settings. So they should be similar in every matter.

Obviously they are not the same in every way.

Any difference in object ink effects?

The only dissimilarity I can think of is the development history, if you know what I mean. But the current content in terms of objects, events and properties should be totally same.

Bruto_Memo, have you found any workarounds on how to restore the lost performance?

    Are you using duel screens?

...One screen always has priority and if you are opening them to compare you may be unawarely always having one on the secondary screen.

SEELE, no I'm not using dual screens.

Tiles, that's obviously true, but I was wondering if someone would have had this issue before (like Bruto_Memo), and would know more about it in general.

I've done many hours of investigation on it and it's still a total mystery.

    Re: Weird slowdown problem

You still didn't answer Tile's question.

    [list]
    [list]Properties
[list]Load on call for all objects
    [list]Graphics mode
    [list]Window Size
    [list]Change Resolution Mode
    [list]Frame Rate
    [list]Machine Independant Speed
    [list]Multiple Samples
    [list]Display Mode
    • V-Sync

Are any of these checked, are their settings the same as the other application?
