Well, who doesn't have problems with Vista. I still wish I could downgrade my computer...

I don't have problems with Vista, but that might be because I refuse to knowingly go within 10m of a machine with it on.

I'll stick to XP x64 TYVM.

I'm sorry i was joking.. in Australia Vista is a total joke, nearly all the computer which came with vista have been downgraded and it is no longer available with new computers.

    ... just a joke.

Vista is great It has a much more steamlined user interface and many new features. All the UAC (permission crap) can be disabled in control panel, along with all of the inbuilt security. You're left with a pretty neat operating system

Hmm maybe that's why microsoft have abandoned it, and already begun work on it's replacement 'windows 7'?

    Lets get back on topic.

Why is this one computer having problems?

It may or may not be related to Vista since he says the computer runs fine.

Sorry I've been away a few days since posting.

I discovered that if I use Display Mode = DirectX THIS GAME has a massive slow-down ONLY on the FAST LOOP that tosses debris when the block is destroyed.

If I switch to STANDARD display mode, It runs GREAT!

Re: Fast loop slowdown on one pc

I guess the question remains, but changes a bit... why would this game run so well on several machines in DirectX display mode but run poorly on a considerably better machine?

Is this because of the version of DirectX running on the Vista box? Why is it only the fast loop that is adversely affected?

    WAIT! direct x or direct3d?

because direct x is just horrible; if it is direct x expect that sort of thing... and avoid using it.
