Loops, spread values and other advanced concepts

Again, I don't know if this is the best place to ask this, but I would like to know if there is some help and examples dealing with loops and the spread value thing, so I can wrap my head around them. Of course, some docs relevant to MMF 2, not to MMF 1.
As I see it at the moment, the spread value is used as some sort of a for-next cycle (BASIC is the only thing I actually programmed in), but the loop concept is a bit harder to grasp.
Also, things like groups and conditions like "only one action while event loops" give me headaches.
Guess becoming an expert in MMF after one month of tinkering with it after work is a bit much to ask, but I keep hitting these metaphorical walls and it's frustrating.
