    Application Comparisons

    I have a few questions regarding some of the features included in higher versions of the software. I'm primarily comparing the differences between MMF2 and MMF2 Dev, and I wasn't able to pick out specifics on these by searching:

    Data Grid - Is this a sort of visual array? What functionality does it allow for as opposed to not having it at all?

    Dialogue Box - This is so general I'm not certain about it either, can someone elaborate on its function?

    I was also confused about "Explorer", "List View", and "OS"... If someone could just explain briefly what each of these features actually do, I'd be very grateful.

    Thank you in advance!

    Re: Application Comparisons

    I'll post their official descriptions...

    The DataGrid object is a grid control designed to present your data in a structured, grid way, like in Excel. The DataGrid object allows extensive control on the layout, editing of the content, and printing.

    The Dialog Box object is designed to allow you to add dialog boxes to your applications. A dialog box is a set of controls placed in a window, allowing the user to pass data to the application. Usually dialog boxes are used to allow the user to modify the preferences of the application, or to enter specific information.

    The Explorer object is designed to allow you to include a file browser in your applications.

    The OS object allows you to retrieve the following system information: Environment variables; Computer name; User name;
    System default language; User default language; Windows version (95, 98, etc.)

    (Licensing agreements for MMF2 Dev vs Regular.)

    Thank you very much! This is exactly what I was looking for. I hope I didn't overlook the official descriptions somewhere on the site. I looked around there and the forums, but either way thank you again for your help!

    I took the descriptions from the help documentation of the objects.
