    Re: segmented bosses

I know I said it was only for experts due to its uber, uber hardness, but if you feel brave:

    Segmenting Along a Bézier Curve

The above is complicated by the fact that it works for multiple NPCs. If you want it to work for only one, it's a lot simpler.

Although Béziers will immediately look stupidly complicated, with a little effort you'll get your head around them. The advantage is that it gives you two invisible unseen pointers, allowing you to bend the arms.

There are simpler ways, but they're inferior in the expressiveness of the bosses you can build with them.

The article further up the thread explains all you need to know about Béziers, and of course, there's a new Bézier Object which does the math for you.

I've just taken a look at the Bézier examples - they look great. Perfect for that style of boss.

Hopefully, when I've grown a brain and gotten over the terror of seeing how complex the Bézier example is, maybe I'll have a bash at using the object. Any chance of doing a Bézier Curves for Dummies, Dumber than Dummies example? heheh

    Re: segmented bosses

Lol, yeah, sorry about that. It can be done simpler without the multiple object thing (i.e. you have to code each tentacle individually, but it's a lot simpler).

    Re: segmented bosses

Yeah, that's easier to do in the List View Editor, as you can drag an icon over the icons in the expression. That should replace them.
