Bad Object deleted my whole game! What the hell?!

So I was like making progress in my game, when suddenly I get a message that was something like: you did something and now the application has bad objects. Usually when that happends, I just close my game without saving, so that I return to the previous save point. Anyways, when I reopened it I got the message:

    "WARNING!
One or more events contains references to bad objects. Shortcuts have been created for this or these objects, open them and replace them by the correct objects"

And that doesn't sound so bad, so I proceed. However, when I press "OK" I get the message:

"An error occoured while loading frame #4.
Do you want to continue loading the frame anyways?

If you answer Yes, this frame will be removed from the application."

What the hell. Seeing as frame #4 is the frame with the main game, I have no idea what to do. I haven't made any backups of it seeing as I just started it recently, however, it's more or less something I can't recode due to it being somewhat huge.
Is there any way to revive my application? I will do anything!

What build of MMF2 were you using?

If you were using the latest stable build then upload it and give Yves/Francois a link so they can look into it.

I was indeed using the latest, with HWA.

I'll try and link them to it, hope they can solve it!

MechaBowser you do know the HWA is beta?
For a serious project you should stick to the release version.

I am sure Y and F will do their best to save your file but you kinda need to make backups if your going to use beta versions.

I've used HWA for a long time, and my project is really graphically requiring, unfortunately :x
Yeah I know it's a beta, but I doubt it's something HWA specific that did this

Set it to auto-backup. That way it will create a backup every time you save and keep the backup until the number of backups has reached a certain number. You can turn on auto-backup by going to Tools>>Preferences>>General. Set the number of backups to somewhere around 20. I realize it's too late for this, but do it in the future.

Even though you don't think HWA has anything to do with the bad object part, CT still changes things all over in the code to fix bugs, allow for new abstractions and features, and that might be the reason why it breaks. Of course it could be a bug in the old code-base as well but better be on the safe side only to use "stable" builds for anything serious.

Yeah I've turned on auto-backups now, wish I did that a few hours ago and this wouldn't have happened
