    question about sound and channels

    hi again

i was wondering what is the meaning of the channels:1.32=32 channels? and if so, 1.1= channel 2? or 2=2 3=3etc?

channels are like multitrack recordering software? so not all the sounds will play from the same channel and this will avoid peaks and noises? or will avoid some sounds not to be played?
witch leads to another question: how many sounds can i play at the same time on one channel?

Re: question about sound and channels

I think the answer to the question that has been led to is: One.
Each channel plays one sound at a time, so the "Play Sample" action finds the next availible channel and plays the sample there.

well, sometimes you want certain channels to be used for certain sounds... also i think the only way to play a sound through an expression is to specify channels manually

32 channels, and you should be able to play all channels at once without any problems

Re: question about sound and channels

In my Octave Piano example (A few random mini-projects in the File Archive) I used "Play on Specific Channel" to have one channel per note. Since a piano cannot have two Cs playing at once, and I do not want possible sound overflows to occur, this is a very good way to handle the samples.
