    Detecting distance from qualified actives???

I'm trying to create a general homing attack for sonic the hedgehog.
I know how to make the homing attack itself work, but I want the program to know which object is closest at the time of action.
the best solution I could think of was qualifiers, but it will only detect one of the actives qualified.
If you know how to fix this or have a better solution, I would appreciate it.

You can use the advanced direction object. Check the examples on it because they include how to check which instance of an object is the closest to another object.
