    Performance Options

I just wanted to ask which of these two scenarios had better performance for this particular engine:

    - Many individual sprites

    - Fewer large sprites

    Thanks!

As a general i would say Fewer large sprites...

But that can change depending how you use them.

For the best performance, the many individual sprites is the best. Appearently MMF2 handles alot of objects better than one huge, I asked Clickteam this a few months ago.

    Re: Performance Options

Thanks for this... I know it's a toss up with a lot of engines. At the moment I'm using many, large identical sprites. Hopefully their size won't be too much of an issue, but my only alternative was to create fewer massive sprites (ala static painted/prerendered backgrounds, etc)

Watch out the texture size limit in MMF HWA, it's around 5000x5000 pixels.

    It's probably 4096x4096.
Thats the absolute max texture resolution my graphic card can handle anyways I believe.
