    Java Version?

This may have been asked before but what is the minimum Java version required for browsers to properly view the applets created by MMF?

I ask because I tried viewing an applet on a campus computer (older version of Java, not sure which), and there were numerous problems. Active objects had black where there should have been transparency, fonts looked wrong, etc.

However when I updated to most recent Java version, all was well. I'm assuming that was the issue, so can anyone tell me what I should warn my visitors is the minimum required Java version?

    Thanks.

    Re: Java Version?

I believe it's Java 5, but be careful - the version numbering of Java is exquisitely confusing (Java 5 is actually 1.5, which comes after Java 2, which is 1.4.2. And the Mac versions just make up their own numbers.) You can check the Java version on the campus computer (assuming you have access to the command prompt) with java -version.

    Re: Java Version?

Not any more with the new version. Transparency on Mac will work with Java 5.
Actually Java 5 is the minimal version of Java needed to make MMF app run.

    Re: Java Version?

Which version of Java should we install on our development PCs though? (The Windows machines we use to build the Java applications).
