Music visuliation

How do you make a visulisation for music (like media player and winamp)

It's hard; If you use the OGG format there in an extension to help you... otherwise you'll need to read the file(I'm guessing mp3) with a binary object and extrapolate it from that.... Hard.

Use Onu. Onu has visualization stuff for you to do whatever you want with. You can get FFT analysis, spectrum data, etc. Then you can do whatever you want with it.

Not to mention there are already examples that show how to do it. I believe someone made a video tutorial on exactly this, it actually may have been you TwiTerror, but my memory is not always reliable.
