Making a scroll style inventory?

i was looking for a methd of making an inventory like in final fantasy how it has a list of things and you can scroll down the list, ya know?

any pointers on this would be appreciated.

ok to be more specific, i mean making like an inventory, and if you were to click a down arrow, the list would scroll down and display one more item as the top item disappears.
