    Enemy tutorials

Well, I hate to keep coming back and grubbing for help, but I've hit another snag.

I'm fumbling my way around, trying to get enemies to work in a platforming environment. Which is to say, enemies that move, are correctly affected by gravity, collide with the platforms correctly, etc. I can get the appearance of movement by setting it to path, but that's just not going to do it.

What I need is either a good tutorial, tailored towards sidescrolling-style gameplay, or a sidescrolling game project that I can rip apart to analyze. The latter would be the most helpful, but I haven't found anything of the sort.

Any help would be good. I've looked over the Bermuda Triangle Game tutorial a bit, but it either hasn't helped much in the areas I want it to, or it goes over my head. Which is bound to happen, at least a bit, considering I only got MMF2 a little over a week ago.

You certainly chose a high goal, for having MMF2 for such a short time (I wouldn't try that myself even). Why do your enemies need all this? Can't they just walk a fixed path that you place on top of your platforms? What do you want to achieve exactly?

    Also check this article:

Because this is basically what you need to accomplish your goal - but in a modified way. You'll have to integrate a custom movement for your enemies too. Which is essentially your first step anyway.

Kaiseto - I'm actually pursuing the same goal as you at the moment. (And I keep coming back and grubbing for help as well... so sad)
I've managed to cobble together quite a bit of the platform movement with some AI and physics movement. It's a rough start as I've only been using this application for roughly a week myself, but if you're interested I can share my progress with you.
I'm really stuck at getting enemy path movement in, but once that's done enemies will be able to patrol the level on their own, sight and follow the player, attack when within a certain range, and return to a patrolling state when the player manages to ditch them. If this sounds like the same direction you're heading let me know and you can probably get a quick head-start off my file, and maybe we can compare notes down the line.
