Testing if the user has an internet connection?

I am creating a registration process in my software. I need to create an event that test an internet connection in the users computer? Is there a way to test a connection?

I think the YASO object can do this.

I would use YASO because if Jeff's server encountered troubles (not that it would) you would get a false answer.

You can't guarantee that the user's internet connection (detected by YASO) actually provides full internet capabilities. They could be at a school or in China with restricted internet access.
