Okay I can't get Java to actually WORK

Is your ISP or your computer running a proxy on youer pc? this could be blocking the java applet. Or you could be running script blocking plugins on Firefox.
Check your connection settings in firefox and disable any proxy if you are running though this.

But hey guess what the java beta is so awesome it works locally but not on my webhost (which works perfectly fine with aynthing else)

Again, the error is

ClickTeam make your betas useful so that you can actually use them

There is a reason it is called a beta and not a final release. They made it available so that we can all report the problems, at which point I'm sure it will work fine with the final release. Clickteam is not at fault here. :/

The issue has been solved a long time ago stop bumping old topics. And I'm not disagreeing with that decition, but I can still complain about it not working when it's supposed to, considering my frame was empty and had nothing in it.
