Music on MMF2

Ok I have a problem with MMF2.
I want to have my special music in my game. The problem is that my music program only plays music in the: MMM files, Wav files, MP3 files, and Ogg Vorbis files. And as you probibly know MMF2 only lets you play Midi files. Anything I can do to play my music on my game?

You can play other formats under the "Samples" command.

"Samples" is WAV, OGG and a few other formats
"Music" is MIDI formatted sound files

(Don't let the term music here fool you - its a term for MIDI not music itself)

If you want to play MP3s you need to use the DirectShow extension which can play any format supported by Windows Media Player.

No it shouldn't, unless of course if you are loading hundreds of samples at once...

I just figured this out the other day for my game too. I had been using the DMC2 object to play external mp3 music files from another folder, but since MMF2 doesn't support DMC2 I converted all my mp3s to oggs and loaded them internally. It works great, plus you don't have to worry about a bunch of external files (which I am most paranoid about :grin

Just to point out, remember if your selling your game commercially then MP3 files have licenses attached to them.
