.ccn - building vs MMF created

As mentioned in several threads MMF subapps reacts different to a ccn created by MMF vs a built ccn.

I have so far 22 ccn apps being loaded back and forth from a main app in 2 subapps. Every time I make a change in any of those apps I must load it in main app to the subapp properties, run the main app and have MMF create the ccn. Instead of simply building it.

After a few days I'm thinking there has to be a better way! Why is it this way or am I missing something here?

Build them as Vitalize! applications. They're exactly the same kind of .ccn I think

If you mean "File>Build>Application" then that is what I have used in my description above. App properties set to "Internet Application". When doing this, and not having it "loaded" in the subapp at start but "calling it" at runtime, I get the "this is not an application"-message. It only works if the ccn been built by MMF.

OK, it has been a good while since I've used Projects. I'm not sure, but I think that might apply here.

Have you tried using a Project for your application? When you run your main frame, MMF should prompt you and then build any changed .ccn's before it runs. They do have to be built before they can be utilized.

That is what I recall has been a value of projects, as well as keeping things together.

That may be way off. Let me know if that helps.

I'm not setting it up as a project right now but I'lll try that and see if it's better/easier.

Setting it up as a project (saving main app as .mfw file) doesn't make any difference for me. Still have to load a changed second app into a subapp to have mmf build the ccn instead of simply building it from the menu.

BTW, what is the benefits of creating a project? I have searched for more info about creating and handling projects but find very little. Don't want to miss any useful thing here.
