    Shooting question

I currently have a game where I have a small character in the center of the screen, and upon pressing a mouse click I want the character to shoot an object directly at the position of the mouse pointer when the click was made.

I've tried all kinds of methods, but still run into the same problem of when the object is shot, it is shot in one of the 32 directions, and never at the exact direction of the mouse cursor, so the shot is never accurate.

    Thank you for any help.

I made an example that did exactly and uploaded it in the MMF2 Archive but it is almost completely impossible to find.

Maybe you could try a 360 direction. I will try to find the formula and get back to you. Someone may beat me to it.

    Re: Shooting question

I would use Vector Movement for bullet.
I made quick example of that.

You could use the Bullet Widget that someone made awhile ago. Here's an example.

    Re: Shooting question

WHat I would do is make like a crosshair or something that follows the mouse
(Always set X to Xmouse, Y to Ymouse)
,then go to shoot object, shoot in direction of the crosshair you made. Even if its a small transparent dot, it should work. Or does that still do 32 directions?

    Re: Shooting question

That's 32 directions. Definitely use the Vector Movement.
