how to make a window pop up for a game puzzle?

    hi,

I have been following up with some of the great tutorials and help from the community and so far so good until I came across this problem,

I can't figure out the best way to present a pop up window that should (frezze/pause) active frame/background so it can be interactive by itself. and when I am done, i can click an exit button or anywhere else on screen to shut it down and resume to my active window.

to make it more clear, I am trying to make a puzzle pop up window that has many items and 1 or 2 items to chose then close it but I dont know how and the best way to do it. so far I had no luck, anyone can help me please? thanks in advance!

The best way to do this would be to put all your normal events in one group and your puzzle events in antoher.

when you want to display your puzzle disable yournormal events, remembering to stop any movements and animations, and enable your puzzle events.

Another thing you can try is to use a subapp that will automatically freeze your main window and have your minigame or what have you inside of it. Comb the forum a bit, here's something to start with.

yeah, thats where I am heading, a subapp is exactly what i want! sorry I couldn't describe better.

now I am building the group technique (which truly makes everything easy in the end) and I will look of how to do the subapp.. I am reading in the forums and also expermenting.

thanks RayMarble! and thanks to you all

I made and uploaded a Pause/Game Menu example that would be very useful to you.
