Well, as long as the distance is greater than whatever, and only one action while event loops [found under special object>limit conditions], then start the bouncing ball movement. As long as the distance is less than or equel-to whatever and only one action when event loops , stop and attack the player.
Working as fast as I can on Fusion 3

You could also just let them stop and attack when they overlap the player.. maybe have an invisible circle around the player that is used for that.

I don't like your signature Random.
Assuming you had an RPG platformer style. How would you handle the movement towards the player? Obviously the enemies can't have platform movement with the player handling the controls.

Try Pinball movement it's practicly a Platform version of Bouncing Ball Movement (which is topdown).

    Iwantmyrpg,

I don't like onions, so what. I ask noone to like my signature. I believe it's very uplifting and it gives me a positive attitude towards my daily experiences.

Now to your question. First of all, it's a whole different matter than what this thread is about. Then, dragonguy is right, the pinball movement can get you somewhere - although personally I would advice you to use the advanced platform movement extension to make a custom movement for your enemies.

For certain purposes, the advanced pathfinding object is your friend (see the lemmings example).

Here's an MMF1 example how to do pathfinding for platform games. It uses a rather old extension, so you won't be able to open it with MMF2, I'm afraid. The enemies can't jump, but use ladders.

If you just wanna see what it looks like:

Haha, I know exactly what I'm missing. Cause sometimes I forget to say I don't want onions on my burger or whatever and then I get the full taste of what I'd rather miss
