    Is there a reason why you need to do this with backdrops? Active objects are really meant for what you are trying to do. Backdrops are static and stationary. Active objects you perform actions on, such as a block or door being destroyed, etc.

    Yes, you can use the create backdrop object at runtime, but I don't really see why you would want to do that when you could just place an active object for the door in the frame editor, then just go into the event editor and put the action for destroying the object. Actives can test for collision just like a backdrop object.

    Unless you have a very specific reason why you need to use backdrops, just use an active.
