    animation even after released an action button!!!!

    hi, i´m new over here, i´m kotipeltox.

    ok,i have a character which attack action is to slash with its sword, ala ninja gaiden (nes 8 bits), obviously that animation is composed of many frames, starting from when it pulls the sword out of its sheath, attacks with it, and finally when it puts it back in its sheath. The problem starts when i assign a button to the action, as you may know, in platform games, when you press the button (attack) once and release it instantly (it means a "tap"), the character will perform the animated sequence regardlees of weather you already released the button or you still keep it pressed (it´s needless to say the attack movement in this case DOESN´T repeat while button is pressed). Well here on MMF2, i have made various experiments, and all of them are path to failures, because when i press the action button ,the attack sequence starts, but once i released it (again, when i tap...)the sequence simply STOPS!!!!

    Just imagine you´re playing ninja gaiden, castlevania, metroid, etc. I wanna the action button to behave like in those games..


    I hope somebody can help me!!! sorry about tha astronomical lenght of this post, but i´m stuck due to this issue...

    Welcome! Is your name anything to do with Timo Kotipelto?

    I'm not sure what the cause of the problem is, because as far as I remember, animations should keep on playing until they reach the end unless there's another event that changes the animation back again. If you're using the default platform movement then there are times when it changes the animation as well, but I'm fairly sure that the user animation slots shouldn't be affected by its default ones.

    That's a thought - where's this animation on the object? Is it in one of the default named animation types, or did you add one and put it into that?

    Hi DavidN, do you like the power metal hehehe??? and yes, it´s related to kotipelto, 'cause i´m fan of stratovarius.

    I´m not using default built-in platform movements, they suck a hell. the animation in question is the default "shooting" one, according to you, may exist an event wich cause the interruption of the animation when the button is pressed??? but if i´m using "pressed fire 2", how could i negate this event since only "repeat while fire 2 is pressed" event can be negated??

    If you're not using the default platform movement (or a movement on the object at all), then I don't think that there's anything that should revert the animation back unless you've got an event that specifically says it should... perhaps you could upload your file, or a stripped-down one that shows the problem, in the File Archive section of the forums, and point to it for people to have a look.

    ok, i think i have solved the problem, i negated another events wich caused me glitches when i was about to shoot,now i can tap and the animation just goes flawless, any thing or problem, i´ll post it, thanks buddy!!
