    Edit Boxes using Transparency glitch

I've just used the HWA version of MMF on an existing project.

When I select DirectX 9 or 8, the Edit Boxes in my app (they have the Transparent option checked) "punch out holes" in my app. It looks like it grabs images from the applications behind it.

Is this a known issue in HWA? Any known work arounds?

I think this is because your application is now being processed using a different render method. A different render method that things like the edit boxes can't detect. You get a similar issue when you turn on Visual Effects in the options, and try to place buttons and such. Where they would normally allow the background behind it, instead it's bordered by a white square.

And if this is the case, I do not believe there is any fix or work around right now. Just don't use the edit box if you want to achieve a background for text.

You can achieve something like this by making it so that if you click a String object, then set focus to a hidden edit box, and make that string always equal to what the edit box says. And if you click anywhere off the string, release focus from the edit box.
