Standard socket connections using OINC

I have tried to use OINC as a stock standard socket client by means of connect, on connect... but it looks like the on connect never fire. I noticed on the OINC sever there is lots of chatter happening during the connection phase. How do I get a normal client going?

OINC doesn't work as a standard socket client - it's a protocol in itself and only works with the OINC or POINC server.
