    Active x slider

I've been trying to create a "volume" knob or slider for weeks with not much luck. I'm having a go now with the Active X "Microsoft slider control" but get get it work in any way.
Hopefully someome can point me in the right direction.

The best volume control i've made so far is-
10 objects set to volume values-
    triggered by mouse over.
Which to my mind is just stupid.

Ive triede a few variations using graphics, setting the x scale
ect from The power users guide to windows but no luck there.

I think there's a slider extensions, which would probably work much better than the activex.

    Re: Active x slider

There's no slider extension to be found. It's strange that a Multimedia application(MMF)has NO knobs or slider's BUILT-IN, and ready to go. This is MULTIMEDIA after all, you know.
    I'll keep working on it........

    Re: Active x slider

Lol... just have two objects, a knob and a bg. Have it so that when the user clicks or holds down left click over the bg, the knob's x position is placed at that position, put events to move the knob to the left side of the bg if it's too far off, and same with the right side. Then you can calculate the % of the difference between the bg's width and the relative position of the knob to where the bg is to get a % for volume, or anything else.

    Re: Active x slider

I just got it. Exactly what I was after. Thank you all very much.
I'll get over the failure of not being able to create it myself.
    PS.
lots of other goodies on that page as well..

    Re: Active x slider

Even with the sliders and some really good examples, I STILL can't work it out. Un real!. I'm stuck at assigning volume to the scale of an object.

    Re: Active x slider

    Int((X( "scroll bar" )-X( "nub" ))*100/485.0)

485.0 is the width of your scroll bar.

Here it's used in a VERY simple example:

I usually do a few things to make my sliders a little more accessible and polished.
