Getting a COD/ALX file onto a BlackBerry Bold

    Heya,

So I've gone through the process of installing all the necessary programs to allow MMF to export to BlackBerry files. However, using the media manager on my BlackBerry Bold, I try to copy the game over and it comes up with this:

No additional applications designed for your device were found.

Any ideas on what I can do? Is there any other way to get my game onto the BlackBerry?

    Thanks!

Same problem here. I tried copying it to the storage card by setting the bold as a memory stick but it didn't see the application I copied. Then I tried the download option but this didn't seem to work either. The Storm emulator is the only way I can test to see if it works.

Re: Getting a COD/ALX file onto a BlackBerry Bold

I had that problem once before but it was in an older version.

    Try this:
Can you make a blank app that you can install on the blackberry?
Just have an active object bounce around. My thought is perhaps there is something that is put or done in a file that makes the blackberry unhappy and the app will not load up.

After I build a COD/ALX file I use the Application manager in the blackberry desktop manager to install it.

If you want me to test a COD/ALX upload it or PM me about it and I would be happy to. I will upload some of my blackberry test games later today so you can see if they install on your unit.

It's like the nokia software in that respect then but at least with the nokia and Windows mobile phones you can switch to storage device mode and copy stuff over then just run it from the phone without 3rd party softwaer..

Re: Getting a COD/ALX file onto a BlackBerry Bold

Jeff, Sorry if this is the wrong place. Blackberry question.

Installed(screen size)320x240 app, worked fine into RIM Blackberry 9530 emulator. Tried 480x360 or what ever the native screen size was and slightly smaller but neither worked.. Is this size limitations in the Blackberry emulator or the MMF2 Dev 249d runtime? what's the max size/resolution can be used?? Thanks again.

I would refer you to the blackberry website as it list the specs for each unit.

On the emulator -- Its really not a good way to test anything.
You will need to find people with units and have them load up your game and give you a report.

Re: Getting a COD/ALX file onto a BlackBerry Bold

what about using the emulator provided by blackberry in the JDE?

apps work fine, even in screen sizes not native, it just centers the app and stuff is offscreen to the sides.

but when 'touching' or 'clicking' the emulated screen objects produce artifacts. is THAT the emulator? or is that a bug?
