    MMF 1.5 extensions to 2.0?

    Hey,
I need some extensions which are .cox files and I've been told that those files are only for MMF 1.5. Do I have to buy MMF 1.5, because I have MMF2 and I really need those extensions (they haven't been ported.) Is there any way I can get these extensions to run in MMF 2.0 or where can I at least get MMF 1.5?

    Thanks!

    Which extensions are you after?

You can put MMF1.5 extensions into the mmf1/ folder of the Extensions folder, so that you can open files that contain them - however, the application won't be able to run while MMF1.X extensions are still in it.

Which extensions do you need specifically for MMF 1.5? Is there a certain thing you need done that you can't do in MMF2?

You are going to have to do this to see how things were done, remove the old extensions, and then see if you can achieve similar results with extensions from MMF2.

Slightly looking forward but what happens with MMF3 will all of the ones working in mm2 not work for that? Im also wondering why the old ones are not backwards compatible for mmf2 by default.

I'm hoping that when Clickteam works on MMF3, they make the MMF2 extensions compatible with it. I have no idea how hard that would be to work into the program, however, but it definitely would be a great benefit. That way you wouldn't have to totally redo your event coding if you used extensions in MMF2.

Yeah i agree, unless the whole apps completely different it would be a waste to not allow them to load and be used. There is lots of great extensions being made now. Even if the app was different they could still leave the commands in the SDK/inside of app to allow them to be used. Then even if there was a better new command/code it would still be working as before but they could update the build to be more efficiant later.

I hope that a lot of the stuff you can't do by default and have to require extensions for gets put in by default also as well as GUI enhancements etc. But having all the extensions available also would be great.

Backward compatability with old version compiled extensions will never be guaranteed but...

As long as the developer of the extension cares and updates the code himself or puts the source code on file with Clickteam the extensions will be compatible with future versions of MMF.

You can be assured all bonus pack extensions and extensions distributed with the products will be converted. Plus some developers have sent in their code just in case they are gone and an adjustment needs to be made.

but you never know maybe they will be
