Resize display window vs. full screen

Well, I've been playing around with my runtime options. I do know that the resize display to fill window option, while it fits your monitor resolution, the graphics aren't as smooth as actually changing the resolution mode.

But I was just curious if there is a technical reason you might not want to use this option? I have Fraps, but I can't actually test frame rate with that unless I use HWA, but I can't use fullscreen options in HWA (yet) :P

So, other than the graphics not looking as smooth, is there any other reason why I might not want to have the option for the graphics to resize if the user maximizes the window? If all it does is make the graphics not as smooth, I'll probably add the option anyway, but if it will affect performance in a negative way, then I won't.

Also, while on this subject, I seem to recall a way in TGF that you could maximize the window, and display more of the playfield, as opposed to just resizing all the graphics to fit the display. Can you still do this in MMF2? I forgot how i even did this in TGF. I thought it was a runtime option, but I don't see it listed.

Well scrolling isn't nearly as smooth and kind of hard on the eyes i noticed. Don't think I'll be using this option :P
