Speeding up larger frames -selecting part for view

    Hi,
If you read Yves' anwer on my question, with D3D there is problem that with many background objects it renders them each frame which causes massive slowdown (in my game with tousands of backdrops its even slower than Standard).

Would not be possible to select rectangular area of frame to render?
Like if you have 10 000x 10 000, you would set by event Render location from 0,0, to 5000, 5000.

I thought MMF2 works this way but maybe I miss something? thanks

I believe it is a bug.

Are you talking about the frame editor? Because Knytt (Which has a huge map with hundreds of backgrounds, I use it to test shaders :P), runs perfectly at runtime, but at edittime, it's very slow (@D3D).

I think you'll find your code and computers capabilities are the limit in this issue.

ArcaneTale uses well over a few thousand backdrops over a 100,000x100,000 world size and it experiences no slow down.

It depends on what types of quick backdrops you are using and how much they overlap.
