Can I make " Discs of Tron " with this software?

Hello, I haven't actually bought the software but I am really interested in it.

I have been using FPSC so far, is great but I am tired of it. I downloaded SEUCK but is really really limited, I want to move to bigger and better things, and I stumble from FPSC forum to here.

I was wondering If I can make a " Discs of Tron" clone with any of this software. That would be awesome.

The game is based on a tiny part of the movie where they are fighting with the discs, they throw the disc at each other hoping to eliminate the opponent, if the disc does not hit the enemy or is deflected, it comes back to the player.

Hello and welcome to the forum ! Multimedia Fusion will surely let you expand on the sort of apps you'll be able to build ( while FPSC is limited to...fps , but does it very well )
However , unless I'm mistaken , doing the TRON game in 3D such as what you get in FPSC.... I'm not sure about that. But I'm not a power user of mmf 2 ... I think you could build a 2D game based on a top down view, a bit like SPEEDBALL 2 .

What you'll get though is much more flexibility in the user interface , options , score management ( possibility to build a TRON league with ladders etc ) , the possibility to have your games be played ONLINE ( computer vs human ) --- the multiplayer part , I think is feasible , but the road ahead is long

With the latest builds of mmf2 , a java mobile export is available , so you could have users play TRON on their mobile phones

I've played Discs of Tron on XBLA, and yes - you could completely replicate that in MMF... it would be more difficult than doing a birds-eye view or side view platformer game for example, but still relatively easy.

I played that game first in my country and I fell in love with it.

Java mobile? with Multimedia Fusion 2 build 248? that would be awesome. What do I need to make that one?

Yes, it would be my first big project, I know it would be difficult, but first I would learn the interface, shortcuts, download examples, READ THE MANUAL (a lot of people don't do that), probably I would have to start slow with tetris or break out games and stuff like that to get use to the game. I have patience with software because I know that it would take a long time to learn and make an actual game by myself.

Well from what I remember of this game it's not actually using 3D, because it is quite old. It's basically just using 2D graphics drawn in perspective. You could easily do this as long as you are able to make the sprites look right. Not that hard really, it's more of a matter of graphics and animation work, not really any coding/3d work, as it is a 2D game done in a perspective.

I want to control tron's movement with the cursor's keys and shoot the discs with the left click and deflect the enemy's discs with the right click, first level there is only one disc that you stand on, but you can fall off of it and die, others levels there are 2 or 3, in others levels they go up and down and you can still fall off of them. Can I make all of that? I am sorry to bother I just wanna make sure I can do it.

Yes, you can do all of that. Might take you a bit to get used to using MMF2 and figuring it all out, but I can say it is most definitely possible to do that. If you run into troubles, always post here so you can get them sorted out
