    mouse movement

Hi, I'm new to MMF2 and I'm having some real problems trying to get the mouse to move from A - to - B without the users input.

I have the mouse cursor (an active object) set to xmouse ymouse. I want to make the user click on an on screen button and then for the mouse to move (not teleport) to another part of the screen and then for the user to get control of the mouse at that new position (the end of the movement).

If some one could please tell me how to do this, would be much appricated.
I have looked through the forums and seen some posts that could be of help, but every thing I try doesn't work (it must be something I'm doing wrong).

Any instruction would be apprciated, simple instructions would be great.

    Thanks,

    Re: mouse movement

Hmmm, well, it sounds to me you'd be better off setting the active to Mouse Movement, instead of hard coding it to use the x and y of the mouse position. Then you just deactivate player control and swap the active with ball movement or path movement, move it to it's destination, then allow the user to regain control of the mouse object.

Assuming I'm understanding your dilemma correctly

    Re: mouse movement

Unfortunetly I have tried that - although it does work. But I want to do other things with the mouse that the "active" mouse movement doesn't let me do.

I'm trying to create a jigsaw game and move the jigsaw peices with the mouse using xmouse ymouse. This is the only way I can get it to work .i.e using the xmouse ymouse approach.

Unless I'm totally going about the whole procedure (appraoch to the game) wrong.

Is there a way to code the example you meantioned, but use the xmouse ymouse method instead???

    Re: mouse movement

This is great, just what I was looking for.

Thank you so much for the help.

Just one other question concerning these extensions to make this work.
If I was to sell my game commercialy and it used these, or any other extensions does that cause any problems???
Are these extension seen as plugins to MMF and can be used when and where ever seen fit (even if that is in a commercial product)???
    Thanks again :-)

    Re: mouse movement

They should work fine, even as a commercial product.

    Re: mouse movement

Sorry, I worded my question wrong.

Are there any copyright issues with using these extensions.

If I use an extension do I have to tell the author of the extension that its used in my commercial game?

    Thanks,

    Re: mouse movement

For the Power System Object, you've already told the author, and he doesn't care (I'm the author ). The Biezer object was created by Greyhill, so you would have to talk to him.
