    Ini++ Vista Home Premium

    A user has reported that their copy of our game can't load any level files which are installed in the same directory as the program (based on Ini++). No other users are reporting this problem... Is there something I should know? How can we fix this?

    Re: Ini++ Vista Home Premium

    When the User does not have Administrative Rights he is usually unable to write to the installation directory, by default this means "Program Files".

    For Vista you need to write all files to the user Profile directory.

    On my Laptop it's C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming

    Create a Folder there for your Application and save all data into it.

    The problem is reading/loading files, and it appears to only be affecting one person (though it could be anyone with this OS I don't know yet). We already save our player data in the app data folder.

    Re: Ini++ Vista Home Premium

    Sorry I misunderstand that.

    I tried INI++ now on my Vista 32 and it worked without issue.

    Maybe a broken file? Or maybe a computer problem (broken sector on harddrive -> chkdsk or maybe memory problem)

    try putting the app in a file that isnt in the program files.
    then save and reload

    i am using Vista too and it works perfectly for me. I have the app on my desktop or sometimes in a folder (not program files)

    I don't have access to the computer unfortunately. /:

    Just wondering if there is something else I don't know about that could be causing the problem.

    When you built your app, for vista options, try selecting 'run as administrator' and see if that helps?

    Re: Ini++ Vista Home Premium

    What directory does the game install to? Are you using an installer? Or just having them download the game exe itself?

    Vista can be picky with things in the program folder, especially if you don't have admin rights.

    If you are using an installer, have him download the game in a folder to his desktop and see if that works.

    If you aren't using an installer, ask him what directory he put the game folder into.

    Otherwise, as mentioned, have him run the game as administrator. If none of that works, well then I haven't a clue what the problem could be. Would have to be something on his computer system.

    Re: Ini++ Vista Home Premium

    I have no clue either. I have been on Vista for 8 months and no problems. I don't go close to the Program Files directory with MMF, except to save mfa files in the MMF2 library. Everything I do uses folders outside of the Program Files.
