    Make List Object Fade In

When you use a list object on a frame and there is some sort of Fade-In transition, the list will appear afterwards, is there a way to make it fade in as well. Making it appear before transition makes it opaque before the full fade.

Re: Make List Object Fade In

Lists are window objects so I don't think they can be faded. Not even on layers. Your best bet might be to just take a picture of what the list should look like when it's fully faded in, and place in an active object to fade in over where the list is. Then whenever the list itself just appears, it will appear as though it faded in. Just hide the list at start and make it appear whenever it's active counterpart finishes fading.

This method does work well, as I have also had to use this way of getting some things to fade in/out.

Re: Make List Object Fade In

Of course if you're fading things in and out, I presume you're trying to make a game with your own style outside of the simple Windows style.

It might take some work on your part, but with fast loops, I'm sure you could work your own list in using strings or something. I did this with my game, because I'm using the HWA build and I'm unable to use neither the dialog box for loading, or the list box for displaying stuff because the game is being designed for fullscreen compatibility.

If you're interested, I'd be happy to create an example file of my technique for you.
