I would like an external encrypted format for storing graphics. This would be very useful. Would make changing sprites a lot easier. Although I don't know if changing an object to global would retain edits in all frames? Not sure. But if you have a ton of graphics, would still be nice to store them externally. Plus, you could create downloads for different graphics. Or even use an external file that wasn't encrypted so users could add their own graphics.

That's the main purpose of making an object global. Just try it out, it works.

Hell yes! And I know what I'm talking about. As a graphic artist I do *lots* of graphic editing. Each time I make changes I have to import the whole thing again.
I'd rather rebuild & replace a data file instead of importing each frame of each direction of each animation of each active.

Yeah I hear ya on the last part about editing graphics. I think in my current project I've done about 5 revisions to the main character lol. And that's just the main sprite, haven't started the powerups and stuff that will alter him graphically. o.0

I figured that making an object global would work that way. I wasn't sure if it just affected the alterable values being retained, or if it actually took into account graphics as well. Good to know!
