[Request] Critical Modification: Data Store Method

Hello, first of all i'd like to apologize if sometimes my english is not good enough.

As you may noticed in the subject, i'm requesting a critical modification to be made at MMF(and Clickteam's other products, in order to mantain compatibility). What's all this about? I Think Clickteam's products had reach a level of complexity, flexibility and solidity that it's simply amazing...

The possibilities with this series of softwares are huge, you can almost create every kind of program available for windows, every kind of game (now including 3D, complex online games, and Hardware Acceleration!, Java, Flash and Web integrations, among a lot of other great stuff). From corporative solutions to complex image Editors, or the simpliest utilities. From the simpliest a basic game ever, to the most complex and beatiful. I think ther's no such software as amazing as this is.. And i'm talking about simple concepts and knowledges, that can be turned into very great stuff in just a moment...So, I think i just made my point about how much i love Clickteams products.. BUT, ther's something i'd like to say..

What i'm requesting it's about something that should be considered about the Data Storage. I said before that we can make very basic aplications, but also very complex ones... and here we got a serious problem... let's take my MMF2Dev as and example from now. What about if my game have a lot of sprites, wavs, backgrounds, and other sort of stuff?. Also, I don't want the user to access my files, to edit them or even have them, i'd like to secure them... One exe, it's ok for small proyects! it's wonderfull.. but the size fro bigger ones.. it's Huge!.. Ok, the thing is.. I don't want that to be that way ¬¬ .

So, finally i'm asking to do something about Internal Data Storage. The same data that is stored in the main exe, i want it to be outside in one file or separated files. I think they just have to redirect where to take the data from, internally, not from extensions.. just a redirection. Is it that hard to do? Just make that optional... but as Clickteams products grow in complex, they need stuff like this... I'm sure MMF3 should have something like this.. but i can't wait till that right now (2/3 years?)... Maybe in the next update at least? Please, consider this... I'm sure that many users would love to have this feature too.

I hope other users support my request and help me do something about it. Thanx for reading, and again, sorry about my english...

I support this idea. Would be very handy. I have no idea how much work that would take to modify this, but hopefully we'll get it, if not for MMF2, definitely for MMF3. Hopefully it's still possible in MMF2 however.

The irony is the older "Click" products WERE like that. Klik & Play, for example. However, it was forced to use external files, which meant you lost the 1-file aspect.

Be nice to have an option.

Yeah definitely have the option of keeping it internal or external. Because depending on the situation, one is more ideal than the other.

It's in the wish list already. Not sure when it will be done.
